Incorporating a company in Jamaica is simple and the engagement can be completed within three months. Healy Consultants will project-manage the engagement on our Client’s behalf, without him having to visit Jamaica. The following is an overview of a standard Jamaican engagement:

  1. Before Healy Consultants proceeds with the engagement, our Client i) settles Healy Consultants’ fees, ii) signs and returns our engagement letter and iii) provides us all the documents required for our due diligence checks;
  2. Healy Consultants drafts a detailed project plan for Jamaica business incorporation. This project plan will map out, week by week, each step to engagement completion, optimizing transparency and settling our Clients’ expectations;
  3. Healy Consultants assists our Client to decide on i) the proposed company’s name and ii) the optimum corporate structure of the company to be incorporated in Jamaica. When this is done, Healy Consultants will reserve the proposed company name;
  4. Our Client will then supply Healy Consultants with a lease agreement of their office premises in Jamaica. If our Client does not have a business premise, Healy Consultants will provide virtual office services in Jamaica until our Client finds a business address;
  5. After this, Healy Consultants will courier all the incorporation documents to our Client for his signature. Our Client signs these documents and couriers them back along with originals of the due diligence documents. We then will file them with the Companies Registry Office in Jamaica and obtain a certificate of incorporation;
  6. Healy Consultants will then start the opening process of a corporate bank account in Jamaica for the company with our Client’s preferred bank. The banks usually take approximately one month to process and approve the corporate bank account opening application;
  7. Next Healy Consultants will obtain a National Insurance Number (NIS) from the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. and register the company as a taxpayer;
  8. We then obtain a tax registration number as well as a tax compliance certificate from the Tax Administration Services Department;
  9. Healy Consultants will then declare the company’s employees for i) income tax ii) education tax (when applicable) iii) national insurance iv) national housing trust and v) human employment & resource training fund contributions;
  10. Following the company incorporation engagement completion, Healy Consultants will courier a full company kit to our Client, including original documents, unopened bank correspondence and a Client feedback survey to assess the quality of our Jamaican company incorporation services.
