1.	The population is approximately 83,888 (July 2009 est.).
2.	The official language spoken in Andorra is Catalan but the population also speaks Spanish, Portuguese and French.
3.	It has one of the highest life expectancy rates in the world, at 82.51 years. Japan is the highest at 82.6 years.
4.	Tourism, the mainstay of Andorra's tiny, well-to-do economy, accounts for roughly 80% of GDP. An estimated 9 million tourists visit annually.
5.	Tourism in Andorra accounts for more than 80% of its GDP. An estimated 11.6 million tourists visit annually, attracted by its duty free status and its Summer and Winter resorts.
6.	During World War II, Andorra remained neutral and was an important smuggling route between Vichy France and Spain.
7.	In 1278 the Co-Principality of Andorra was established by a treaty called the Pareage. It was ruled by the French head of State, and the Spanish Bishop of Urgell. This lasted well into the late 20th Century. The present Andorran constitution, introduced in 1993, formally enshrined Andorra as a Principality.
8.	Andorrans constitute a minority in their own country. Only 37% of the population hold Andorran nationality. Dual citizenship is not allowed.
